DressNyse Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 30, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 30, 2026

DressNyse is a wardrobe app. You photograph the clothes you own, and the app helps you decide what to wear, what to pack, what to care for, and what to buy or let go of. Doing that well means we hold a lot of personal things about you — pictures of your clothes, sometimes pictures of you, and a record of what you actually wore. This policy explains what we collect, what we do with it, who can see it, and what you can control.

DressNyse is operated by Wyrit LLC, a limited liability company organized in Virginia ("DressNyse", "we", "us", "our"). This policy covers our mobile app, our website, and any connected experiences such as our Alexa skill (together, the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service.

DressNyse is offered in the United States only. Our systems are located in the United States. If you are outside the US, please do not use the Service.

1. Information you give us

Account and identity

Profile and style preferences

Date of birth, height and weight each have an explicit skip. Declining them limits some personalization, and nothing else. It never reduces your access to the Service, and it never affects rewards or standing in the app.

Your wardrobe

Avatar reference photos (optional)

If you want to see clothes rendered on a likeness of yourself, you can upload a face photo and a full-body photo. You can also skip this entirely and pick one of our preset models instead, in which case we hold no photograph of you at all.

You can also shape a preset model using sliders — height and proportions such as shoulders, waist and hips. Those are choices you make on a model. We do not measure your body from your photographs, and we do not create a scan of your face geometry. Your photo is used as a reference picture for the image the AI produces. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent again before it applies to you.

Social, messages and community

Marketplace, donations and shopping

Planning and travel

When you contact us

Support requests, bug reports and anything else you send us, including any screenshots you attach.

2. Information the Service creates about you

A lot of what DressNyse holds isn't something you typed — it's something the app worked out. You should know it exists.

3. Information collected automatically

Device and app information

Device type and operating system, app version and which update is installed, language and time zone, and a push notification token if you enable notifications.

Photo metadata

When you add a photo from your camera roll, it may carry hidden metadata written by your camera — the date, the camera settings, and on many phones, the exact GPS coordinates where the photo was taken. We read this metadata to help the AI colour-correct the image.

Being straight with you about this. Until 29 August 2026 we did not remove that location data. Coordinates that arrived inside photo metadata were stored with the garment and kept inside the photo file itself. Nothing in the app ever used them, they were never shown to anyone and never shared, and they affected 616 photographs belonging to three people. On 29 August 2026 we stopped keeping coordinates alongside your garments. On 30 August 2026 we removed the coordinates already held inside stored photographs — all 1,145 photographs were re-checked and confirmed clean — and from that day a check has run every fifteen minutes that finds and removes location from any photograph that still carries it. Since 6 September 2026 the location is removed before the photograph is stored at all. The pictures themselves were not altered.

Location

DressNyse uses location for two things: local weather, and finding a dry cleaner near you.

Diagnostics and crash reports

When the app crashes or hits an error, we send a report to our crash-reporting provider. It includes the error, the screens you moved through beforehand, your device and app version, your account ID and your email address, so we can tell whether a problem affects one person or everyone. We have deliberately turned off session recording, so no images of your screen or your wardrobe photos are ever sent to that provider.

Activity signals

When you tap through to a retailer, we record that a click happened, which product, and from which screen. We also count views on social posts.

What we do not do

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build advertising profiles, we do not run third-party ad networks in the app, and we do not track you across other companies' apps and websites.

4. Information we get from other people

5. How we use information

6. AI, human review, and training

This is the section most people care about most, so it is the most detailed.

Where the AI actually runs

The AI that handles your photographs runs on computers we own and operate. Removing the background, identifying the garment, reading its labels, producing the clean product image and rendering your avatar try-on all happen on our own hardware. Your photographs are not sent to an outside AI company for any of that.

The one thing that goes to an outside AI provider

When you ask DressNyse to recommend an outfit, we send text only to OpenAI: short written descriptions of candidate garments and the context for the request, such as the weather and the occasion. Images are never attached to that request — this is enforced by the system that builds it, not by a promise. OpenAI returns a set of garment choices. We do not send your name, email, photographs, face, body measurements or contact details.

People at DressNyse can see your content

We would rather tell you this than have you discover it. Authorized members of our team can open user photographs and content in three situations:

Access is limited to people who need it, and it is logged.

Training our AI

DressNyse is free to use. Improving the AI is how the app gets better and how we build a business, so we are direct about what we use:

What we do not do with it: we do not sell your photographs, we do not license your face or body images to other companies, and we do not use your images to generate content for other users.

What deleting can and cannot undo

When you delete your account, we delete your photographs, your wardrobe and your account data as described in Section 13. We want to be honest about the limit of that: a model that has already been trained cannot be un-trained. Your images are not stored inside the model and cannot be retrieved from it, but the training that already happened cannot be reversed. Aggregated and de-identified data does not identify you and is not deleted. Any company that tells you otherwise is describing something that is not technically possible.

AI is not always right

Suggestions, identified attributes and rendered images are produced automatically and can be wrong. They are styling assistance, not professional advice, and not a guarantee of how something will look or fit.

7. Who can see your content inside DressNyse

Most privacy questions about DressNyse are really about other users, so here is exactly how it works.

Every garment and every saved outfit carries one of three audiences:

SettingWho can see it
PrivateOnly you.
Friends OnlyYou, and people you follow who also follow you back.
PublicYou, and any signed-in DressNyse user — not only your friends.

Two things worth knowing:

Also:

8. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have never done either.

We use the following companies to run the Service. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.

WhoWhat they handle

We may also disclose information:

9. Sensitive information

Some of what DressNyse holds is treated as sensitive under state privacy laws. Specifically: your height and weight, your date of birth, your account credentials, your precise location if you turn it on, and your face and body photographs.

Our commitments on these:

We do not knowingly collect information about your health, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, immigration status, union membership, or the contents of your messages with other services. Please do not send those to us.

10. Your choices and controls

Global Privacy Control. We honour the GPC signal as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information. Since we do not sell or share, this changes nothing today — but the signal is respected.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We extend all of them to every US user, regardless of state.

How to make a request

Email wyritapp@gmail.com. DressNyse operates exclusively online, so email is the designated method for every request described here.

We will acknowledge within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need longer we will tell you why and take no more than 90 days in total. We do not charge for this unless a request is excessive or repetitive, and we will tell you before we charge anything.

We will need to verify it's really you, usually by confirming control of your account email. For a request to hand over specific pieces of personal information we may ask for more. Anything you send to verify identity is used only for that.

Authorized agents. Someone can make a request for you with your written permission, or with a power of attorney. We may still ask you to confirm directly.

Deleting your account

Full instructions are on our deletion page. When your account is deleted we remove your profile, wardrobe photos, generated images, outfits, plans, wear history, posts, messages, listings and preferences within 30 days. Some things do not disappear, and you should know which:

California

In the past 12 months we collected the categories described in Sections 1 to 4, for the purposes in Section 5, from the sources in Sections 1, 3 and 4, and disclosed them for business purposes to the categories of recipients in Section 8. We did not sell or share any personal information, including that of anyone under 16. Because we do not sell or share, we do not offer a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link. If that changes we will add one and update this policy first. California residents may also ask, once a year, about disclosures to third parties for their own direct marketing — we make none.

12. Teens and children

You must be at least 13 to use DressNyse. The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn we have, we delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email wyritapp@gmail.com and we will act promptly.

If you are between 13 and 17:

Parents and guardians may ask to review what we hold about their teen, have it corrected or deleted, or stop us collecting more. Email wyritapp@gmail.com. Deleting information may end their access to parts of the Service.

13. How long we keep things

WhatHow long
Account, profile, wardrobe, outfits, plans, wear historyWhile your account is open. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Deleted garmentsIn Trash for 14 days, then permanently removed.
Avatar face and body photosUntil you replace or remove them, or 30 days after account deletion.

Crash and error reportsUp to 90 days.
Retailer click recordsUp to 24 months, for commission reconciliation.
Support correspondenceUp to 24 months after the issue is closed.
BackupsRolling, no more than 30 days.
Records we must keep by law (tax, fraud, legal claims)As long as the relevant law requires.
Aggregated and de-identified dataIndefinitely. It does not identify you.

14. Security

Your data is held in access-controlled systems. Every request is checked against rules that decide, per row, whether you are allowed to see it. Sign-in is handled by a dedicated authentication service; passwords are never stored in readable form. Traffic is encrypted in transit and files are encrypted at rest. Access by our team is limited to those who need it and is logged.

What we won't claim: no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that a determined attacker will never succeed. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law, and tell you what happened and what to do about it.

You can help: use a unique password or a passwordless sign-in, turn on biometric app lock, and tell us straight away if you think someone else is in your account.

15. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as DressNyse changes. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change is material — a new category of information, a new purpose, or a new kind of sharing — we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and where the law requires your consent, we will ask for it rather than assume it. We will not apply a materially different use to information we already hold without telling you first.
